PhD in History, Arts and Languages in Ancient and Modern Europe
The PhD programme in History, Arts and Languages in Ancient and Modern Europe at the University of Perugia aims to train highly qualified researchers in the analysis and interpretation of historical, artistic, and linguistic phenomena that have shaped European development. By offering an interdisciplinary approach, the programme focuses on the emergence of Europe's complex yet distinctive identity and its interactions with other cultures. It seeks to develop advanced methodological skills in scientific research and promotes the integration of various methodologies and critical perspectives.
The programme is structured into three curricula, allowing for in-depth study in specific research areas while encouraging engagement with diverse methodological approaches, dialogue with related disciplines, and an integrated, multifaceted perspective. Special emphasis is placed on developing skills in academic communication, scientific writing, and knowledge dissemination through participation in scholarly discussions, collaboration with other researchers, and the ability to make research accessible to scholars from different scientific fields and to non-specialist audiences.
